3Messages and media

Automatic emails (receipts, reminders) are free for your first 3,000 a month. These extras are passed through at cost, only if you use them.

4Hardware

At minimum, Forge needs a laptop, desktop or tablet. For most gyms we recommend two computers, two QR code scanners and a self check-in kiosk tablet. Use what you own, or get it here. What you need

Outside costs, passed through at cost

These come from the providers Forge uses. We pass them through with no markup.

  • Card payments

    Through Stripe, on your gym's own Stripe account. Stripe's rates: 2.9% + 30¢ online, 2.7% + 5¢ in person, plus 0.7% on recurring memberships.

  • Automatic emails

    Receipts, confirmations, and reminders. Free for the first 3,000 a month, then $0.10 per 1,000.

  • Newsletters

    $0.10 per 1,000 sent (Amazon SES).

  • Text messages

    About 1.3 cents per text, $1.15 a month for the number, and a carrier campaign fee of $1.50 to $10 a month, plus about $61 one time for the carrier registration every texting business needs.

  • Video hosting (with the website option)

    $5 a month per 1,000 minutes stored, plus $1 per 1,000 minutes watched (Cloudflare Stream).

Nothing gets added that isn't listed here. Outside providers' rates are passed through at cost, with no markup. If a provider such as Amazon, Cloudflare, Twilio, or Stripe changes its prices, the pass-through changes with it.

You only pay for what you use. No texts sent means no texting costs.

Questions about pricing

Is there a contract?

Yes. Using Forge requires a software license agreement. There's no term agreement, though, so you're never tied to Forge for a set length of time. Cancel any time. How to cancel:

How much are extra locations?

Your first location is $55 a month, and each additional location is $35 a month. The $300 setup is one time for the whole business, not per location. There's no limit on locations. Running a large group of gyms? Reach out to us for enterprise sales.

Are there tiers or add-ons?

No. Every feature is included, and you choose what's switched on.

What does the setup fee cover?

Getting your gym up and running on Forge. It's charged once for the whole business, no matter how many locations you have.

Do I need a new website?

No. Forge runs on its own: members join, pay, and book through Forge's own sign-up pages and member app. Forge doesn't plug into other websites, so your current site stays exactly as it is. If you'd like a new website too, the price builder shows the website option.
